Dalia Chutney Recipe
Dalia or split chick pea chutney can be a very tasty accompaniment to any South Indian food like Idli, Dosa or Uttappa. Also it tastes wonderful with the Maharashtrian 'Dhirde'.
- Dalia (split chick peas) - 1/2 cup
- Ginger - 1/2
- Garlic clove - 1 big
- Green chilies - 3-4
- Curry leaves - 10-12
- Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
- 1/2 cup Dalia, 1/2" ginger, 1 garlic clove, 3-4 green chilies, 10-12 curry leaves (you can add more if you like the flavor), 1/2 tsp cumin seeds. Add water as needed and grind all the above in a grinder keeping it coarse.
- You can add more water later to get a desired consistency. You can also grind without any water and store it dry for 2-3 days. Water can be added when required.
- This chutney tastes great with Idlis or any kind of Dosas.
